Guinea-Bissau: Opponents Fernando Dias and Domingos Simões Pereira Refuse to Enter Government

Only a few days after regaining freedom, the two Guinea-Bissau opponents categorically refused a proposal from the soldiers who took power by a coup d'état in the country on 26 November, i.e. entering the government and benefiting from 10 seats on the National Transitional Council. Both claim that they do not want to lend themselves to an operation simply aimed at whitening the image of the putschists.
