The Next Grand Theft Auto Will Not Cost a Bomb, After All, as Take-Two CEO Talks GTA 6
Strauss Zelnick said Take-Two aims to keep pricing fair as analysts had speculated GTA 6 could reach $100.
On Wednesday, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick addressed Grand Theft Auto 6 pricing at iicon, distancing the company from a "super-premium" price tag that had been previously floated.
Zelnick explained that major game releases have remained at $60 or at most $70 for over a decade, noting that "Consumers need to feel like the thing itself is amazing and the price they were charged was fair."
Addressing Noire's future, Take-Two CEO Zelnick offered "slim" hope for a sequel, confirming that Rockstar teams are "always looking at what we have" regarding legacy intellectual property.
Grand Theft Auto 6 remains on track for November 19, 2026, launch on PlayStation and Xbox Series consoles, with Zelnick confirming the marketing campaign will begin "soon."
While some analysts predict Grand Theft Auto could reach $100, Zelnick's strategy suggests standard editions will likely align with a $70 price point, prioritizing perceived value.
