The 51-year-old pilot of a Hungarian Gripen fighter jet that crashed near the city of Szolnok on Monday managed to direct the plane to a local airport, but upon landing it became uncontrollable and the pilot had to eject. The pilot suffered spinal injuries and will undergo surgery on Tuesday.
