First Look at Gizmo in Gremlins 3 Revealed as Film Pushed to 2028
Warner Bros. also released a first look at Gizmo in a teaser for the Chris Columbus-directed sequel.
- Warner Bros announced on Wednesday that the Untitled Gremlins sequel is delayed to Oct 8, 2028, moving from Nov 19, 2027. The studio shared a first-look teaser of Gizmo on Instagram.
- Chris Columbus directs the sequel, marking the franchise's first film since 1990's The New Batch. Steven Spielberg returns as executive producer alongside Eleanor Columbus and Christopher Columbus from the 1984 Original Gremlins.
- Gizmo peers through an unzipped opening in the teaser, saying "Uh-oh." The franchise, directed by Joe Dante, historically follows strict rules: avoid bright light, keep them dry, and never feed them after midnight.
- Deadline reports the schedule shift is unrelated to the pending Paramount Skydance merger with Warner Bros and Discovery. The merger cleared regulatory hurdles following a settlement with California Atty Rob Bonta.
- While fans await the 2028 release, the Mogwai's origin story remains available in the HBO Max animated series Secrets of the Mogwai. The studio develops other projects including Nosferatu and Werwulf.
