Gophers WR Hayden Moore out after gruesome hit
The freshman receiver has three catches for 49 yards this season, and Minnesota may expand Quayd Hendryx’s role against Akron.
Minnesota receiver Hayden Moore will miss Saturday's game against Akron after suffering a right-leg injury in the first quarter of the Gophers' 38-13 loss to Mississippi State last weekend.
Moore, a big target at 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds, impressed during preseason camp and immediately contributed with three receptions for 49 yards in his first two games.
With Moore sidelined, freshman receiver Quayd Hendryx will likely see an expanded role, having recorded one reception for 13 yards and two kickoff returns for 51 yards this season.
Minnesota is not currently required to disclose injury reports for nonconference games under Big Ten policy, though disclosure begins for all conference games before the September 26 matchup at Washington.
Quarterback Drake Lindsey set a new program record with 225 pass attempts without an interception on Saturday, surpassing the previous mark of 206 set by Max Brosmer in 2024.
