Google opens pre-orders for US$899 Googlebook laptops built around Gemini AI
The 14-inch laptop starts at $1,299.99 and includes 12 months of Google AI Pro plus phone-to-PC handoff tools for Android users.
- On yesterday, ASUS announced the ASUS Googlebook 14, the company's first laptop designed for Gemini Intelligence, with pre-orders open and in-store availability beginning October 4, 2026.
- Designed for seamless Android integration, the ultraportable device weighs 0.99kg and measures 10.9mm thin, enabling users to start tasks on Android phones and cast apps natively to the laptop.
- The laptop features an Intel Core Ultra 5 325 processor, 16GB LPDDR5X memory, and a 3K OLED touchscreen with up to 1000 nits peak brightness, delivering up to 18 hours of battery life.
- Starting at C$1,899, the ASUS Googlebook 14 offers launch promotions until October 31, 2026; Best Buy customers can choose Pixel Buds 2a or $280 off a Google Pixel 9a.
- Customers purchasing at the ASUS Store receive a one-year warranty extension valid until December 31, 2026, while Google promises regular feature updates for up to 10 years.
