Google Breaks Ground on $4B West Memphis Project, Largest in Ark. History

On October 2, 2025, Google announced a $4 billion investment through 2027 to build its first Arkansas data center on 1,100 acres in West Memphis, Crittenden County.
Entergy Arkansas will power Google's planned Arkansas data center and has filed for a 600 MW solar project paired with a 350 MW battery to support the facility.
The project includes a $25 million Energy Impact Fund for local energy programs, recycled wastewater cooling, and thousands of construction jobs in Crittenden County.
Officials said the data center will generate millions in property taxes for Crittenden County, and Entergy Arkansas claims the contract will yield over $1.1 billion in net benefits while lowering rates for local ratepayers.
Educational initiatives will fund AI training with Arkansas State University and the University of Arkansas, offer free AI courses via Arkansas Department of Commerce, and support data centers in Little Rock and Conway.
