Dave Bautista Is Getting in Peak Kratos Shape for God of War, Shares Training Video
Dave Bautista said he has two months left of training as Amazon MGM Studios restarts production on the live-action series in October 2026.
- On Thursday, Dave Bautista shared an Instagram video showcasing his physique after three weeks of training for Kratos in Prime Video's God of War series, with two more months of preparation remaining.
- Production pivoted to Bautista after original lead Ryan Hurst, actor, suffered a torn bicep during late June filming that required surgery, delaying the project beyond its original schedule.
- The 57-year-old actor said returning to his routine is "like ridin a bike!" while Former United States Champion MVP replied, "The Animal returns!!!!!" to the training update.
- Filming for the series is set to resume in October 2026, following Kratos and Atreus as they embark on a journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye.
- According to the official character description, Kratos is "Spartan by birth, and a god by nature," and will be featured alongside Atreus, portrayed by Callum Vinson in the series.
