Renault Geely Do Brasil Announces the Start of Local Production of the First Geely Car in Brazil
Renault Geely do Brasil has started producing the Geely EX5 EM-i Super Hybrid, the first car from the partnership between Geely and Renault Group.
The Ayrton Senna factory has been modernized to support Geely's advanced Global Intelligent Electric Architecture for vehicle production.
The plant is now one of Brazil's most advanced automotive complexes, producing vehicles ranging from internal combustion engines to fully electric types.
Geely plans to start manufacturing the fully electric Geely EX2 hatchback at the facility in December 2026, with the EX5 launching before the end of the year.
At the end of 2025, Geely and Renault from Brazil merged, with the Chinese acquiring much of the French operation here. Since then, the two brands have been working together. After several operational adjustments, they announce the first major step of the partnership, the local production of EX5 EM-i.
