- Some flights were diverted to London Stansted and Birmingham Airport as crews towed the aircraft; a Gatwick Airport spokesperson said, "As always, safety and security is our number one priority."
- Travelers should check their flight status directly with airlines, as knock-on delays and air traffic backup are expected throughout the day at the West Sussex aviation hub.
