The benchmark price rose 5.6% on 1 September as a result of persistent tensions in the Middle East. Since April, it has already jumped by almost 24%.
In total, in France, six million households that subscribe to an offer indexed to this reference price may therefore be affected by this increase.
As a result of the blockade of the Strait of Ormuz, as well as the abandonment of regulated tariffs in 2023, the bill of some 6 million households could be revised upwards at the beginning of the year.
