Non-hazardous waste in large, so-called "big bags" is being transported from the location of the former PPK Velebit in Gospić to the Holcim Hrvatska and Nexe cement plants, the Fund for Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency reported on Monday.

The removal of big bags is one of the activities currently being carried out in parallel at the location of the former PPK Velebit in Gospić.

"Temporary covering of buried waste is underway, preparations are being made to remove bulk waste next to the silo, and activities necessary for the permanent rehabilitation of approximately 35,000 tons of buried waste are being carried out."
