In order to dampen the recent price increases in petrol and diesel, the fuel price brake is to be temporarily extended. A corresponding amendment to the Mineral Oil Tax Act led today to a heated debate in the Finance Committee. With the votes of the coalition parties, the initiative request was forwarded to the National Council, which is still to make the relevant decision today.
