The province of Friesland is expected to receive hundreds of farmers on Wednesday who wish to express their dissatisfaction with the nitrogen plans of Minister Jaimi van Essen (Agriculture and Nature) at the provincial government building in Leeuwarden. "They will be offered coffee and cakes, because this is the house of the province and of the community," says Arno Brok, the King's Commissioner for Friesland.
Hundreds of farmers marched to the provincial government building in Leeuwarden on Wednesday to demonstrate against the cabinet's new nitrogen plans. Dozens of participants arrived in the provincial capital by tractor from various parts of Friesland. According to the provincial administration, the protest proceeded peacefully, reports Omrop Fryslân.
