The head of SNCF, the French state-owned railway operator on Sunday advised vulnerable people against taking the train during the heatwave that is expected to peak in France early next week.
In the face of an unprecedented canicule episode, SNCF CEO Jean Castex claimed that the French rail network was "strongly affected". Hundreds of agents were responsible for monitoring the network in order to prevent possible incidents.
