In France, a new head of state will be elected next year. Justice Minister Darmanin is concerned about a possible duel of the extremes in the run-off election – and therefore puts aside his own ambitions.
After several months of suspense, Gérald Darmanin, the keeper of the Seals, announced in "La Voix du Nord" of this Tuesday, August 18th, that he would not be a presidential candidate. Between his friends Sébastien Lecornu and Édouard Philippe, he also said that he chose the second one.
RECIT - The Keeper of the Seals will gather his relatives on 30 August in Tourcoing. It is now for him to succeed in "weighing" in the campaign of the mayor of Le Havre after being pushed to the government by the Lyhanna affair.
"We are in an extremely difficult situation, so I have decided not to add more division," says Gérald Darmanin.
