On Wednesday 28 January, MPs unanimously voted on a bill stating clearly that there is no marital duty in marriage. In other words, being married does not create any obligation to have sex and other obligations with one's partner.

France is in the process of abolishing the "marital debt" at the legislative level, and the National Assembly has already approved the removal of long-standing legal uncertainty, in which the absence of intimate relations could sometimes even lead to divorce; now the Senate is in charge.
