Recent surveyor figures give a technical tie between candidates Rafael López Aliaga and Francis Allison
Less than a year after having resigned from the mayor’s office in Lima to run for office for the second time for the presidency of the Republic, Rafael López Aliaga is just a step away from returning to the municipal chair. The Popular Renewal list, which he heads, won the municipal election in the capital with 31.2% of the votes, according to Datum International’s rapid count for America Multimedia.
Francis Allison, candidate of Avanza País to the Mayor of Lima, said that he will recognize the results of the Regional and Municipal Elections (ERM) 2026, after the electoral flash of Datum placed in first place the Popular Renewal list, headed by Rafael López Aliaga as candidate for first governor. Allison reached 25.2% compared to 31.2% of Popular Renewal, according to this first measurement.
