Germany's service sector contracted at its steepest rate in more than three years in April as demand evaporated due to rising inflationary pressures and uncertainty linked to the Iran war, a survey showed on Wednesday.
In April, the S&P Services SME for Germany fell to its lower level since November 2022, dropping from 50.9 in March to 46.9, the first time since August last year that it fell below the 50 threeshold that distinguishes economic expansion from contraction. (ANSA)
