The Freedom Party continues its crackdown on public broadcasting: Party leader Herbert Kickl announced a major referendum on the ORF (Austrian Broadcasting Corporation) during a summer interview on oe24.tv on Wednesday. The referendum will demand "clean information," an "Austrian program," and the abolition of mandatory fees. Kickl stated that the referendum will be submitted in September.
