AGs Request Probe Into Climate Activists’ Influence on Federal Judicial Center
The 22 state attorneys general want Congress to investigate alleged climate activist and DEI influence in the Federal Judicial Center's manual used by federal judges.
- Recently, 22 state attorneys general sent a letter to House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan, Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley and Rep. Darrell Issa requesting investigation expansion to the Federal Judicial Center's manual.
- With a separate inquiry already underway, Jason Isaac of the American Energy Institute said the House investigation now includes the Federal Judicial Center manual, and leaders did not respond to requests for comment.
- The manual names Jessica Wentz as a co-author and climate advocate, and Michael Burger as a reviewer who represented Honolulu in climate litigation, the AGs say.
- Advocates said Congress should examine the manual and add the FJC to its review, but leaders Jim Jordan, Chuck Grassley, and Darrell Issa had not responded to requests for comment.
- Critics argued the manual embeds disputed, plaintiff-driven climate theories funded by taxpayers, with Consumers' Research director Will Hild calling it 'woke activism masquerading as' science.
