For the first time, Romanian Language Day was officially celebrated throughout Ukraine. In the region of Cernăuţi, Romanians marked the moment for three days, through performances, recitals and demonstrations dedicated to the traditions and memory of the ancestors. For the community of northern Bucovina, Romanian language remains the link between generations and the foundation of its identity.
The day of the Romanian language was marked, Saturday, in the premiere, at Cernăuți. The representatives of the Romanian authorities, of the Romanian diplomacy of Ukraine, but also of the Romanian community of the region Cernăuţi have deposited crowns of flowers to the statue of Taras Shevchenko and to the statue of Mihai Eminescu in the center of the city, writes Agerpres.
