Forty-Three American Students Are Named Marshall Scholars For 2026
The 43 scholars were selected from over 1,000 applicants for fully funded postgraduate study to advance U.K.-U.S. ties and honor General George C. Marshall.
- On Dec. 10, 2025, the British Government announced 43 winners of the 2026 Marshall Scholars and the Association of Marshall Scholars congratulated the cohort.
- Funded primarily by the British government with support from British academic institutions and the Association of Marshall Scholars, eight regional selection committees vetted more than 1,000 applicants on merit and leadership.
- The cohort comes from 32 different U.S. colleges and universities, including two military academies and first-time selections at University of San Diego and Oregon State University.
- Recipients will undertake graduate study at leading universities in the United Kingdom next September, gaining pivotal experiences that empower future leaders and deepen the U.K.-U.S. relationship.
- Created by an Act of Parliament to honor General George C. Marshall, the program has more than 2,300 Americans and welcomes the America 250 cohort next year.
