1 Arrested, 4 Detained After Student Reportedly Photographed with Gun at Fort Worth High School, Authorities Say
Five students were detained as Fort Worth police investigated a report that a student photographed himself with a firearm on campus.
On Monday, Fort Worth ISD placed Wyatt High School under lockdown after Fort Worth Police arrived just before 2 p.m. to investigate reports of a student photographing himself with a firearm on campus.
The incident occurred on the district's first day of the 2026 school year; police conducted precautionary vehicle searches on the Seminary Drive campus while students and staff remained safe.
Authorities detained Five people, including 18-year-old Lucio Garcia, as Fort Worth ISD confirmed no firearm was found on campus or "any adjacent property."
The district asked parents and families to stay away from the campus while the investigation continues, with officials promising to provide additional information as it becomes available.
Worth ISD Superintendent Peter Licata arrived at the school to monitor security precautions, later urging students: "Please do not even kid around with safety or posting social media stuff.
