Fort Hood OB-GYN accused of sexual misconduct now in jail
Maj. Blaine McGraw faces pretrial confinement after allegedly violating liberty conditions amid claims from over 75 women and notification of 2,500 patients, Army officials said.
- On Dec. 2, Fort Hood ordered Major Blaine McGraw, Army gynecologist, into pretrial confinement, and he is held in Bell County Jail after violating his commander's liberty conditions.
- Last month, military officials suspended McGraw after a civil lawsuit plaintiff identified as Jane Doe alleged he repeatedly groped her and secretly recorded exams at Fort Hood and Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii.
- So far, more than 75 women claim they were victims of McGraw's alleged misconduct, and the Army has sent letters to more than 2,500 patients at Fort Hood and Tripler Army Medical Center.
- A neutral military magistrate will conduct a pretrial confinement review within seven days, with the military possibly deciding early next week whether to release McGraw or charge him under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
- The case has prompted calls for an institutional review as the Hawaii congressional delegation recently sent a letter demanding a systemic review to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll and acting Pentagon Inspector General Steven Stebbins, questioning military failures amid allegations involving the U.S. Army.
