Formula E London E-Prix: Wehrlein takes second title despite no points in season finale
Wehrlein became Formula E’s second two-time champion after a lap 32 incident left him outside the points and Barnard claimed his first series win.
On Sunday, Porsche driver Pascal Wehrlein secured his second Formula E drivers' championship despite finishing 14th in the season-ending London E-Prix.
Wehrlein entered the final race with a commanding lead after claiming his 11th career Formula E victory during Saturday's opening event, moving him from third to first in the standings.
A lap 32 collision involving Andretti's Jake Dennis and Wehrlein left both drivers outside the points, eliminating Dennis's title threat and allowing Wehrlein to clinch despite the chaos.
Britain's Taylor Barnard won the season finale, becoming the series' youngest winner at 22 years and 76 days, while Jaguar Racing clinched the Teams' World Championship.
Wehrlein joins Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne as only the second driver to win the Formula E championship twice, marking the end of the series' four-season GEN3 era.
