Former Wisconsin man sentenced to 20 months in federal prison for illegal campaign contributions
Roger Hoffman admitted to about $345,000 in illegal federal campaign contributions and was ordered to pay a $150,000 fine.
A federal judge sentenced Roger Hoffman to 20 months in prison for illegally funneling money into U.S. political campaigns after renouncing his citizenship.
Prosecutors said he moved more than $400,000 into state and federal elections using an intermediary to bypass campaign finance laws.
He was also ordered to pay a $150,000 fine in connection with the case.
