Ex-Tory MP who quit over lobbying scandal may join Reform
Ben Bradley will lead efforts to cut spending and improve services in Reform UK councils amid claims of lost public trust in Labour and Conservatives, party says.
- Ben Bradley, the former Mansfield MP and Nottinghamshire County Council leader, joined Reform UK on Wednesday, December 10.
- As part of Reform's team, Ben Bradley will work with Richard Tice MP and the Department of Government Efficiency to help Reform councils save money for taxpayers and fix broken systems.
- Explaining his decision, Bradley said he concluded both the current and previous governments had lost trust in the communities where he lives and works, and that Reform UK is the only party 'prepared to be different'.
- Bradley will act as Head of Local Government Action, supporting council leaders and regional mayors while focusing on cutting council spending and improving children's services and social care.
- Against a backdrop of over 20 former Conservatives joining Reform, Bradley's move follows his May 2024 mayoral contest loss by a 50,000 vote majority and his lost parliamentary seat.
