LPGA’s LOTTE Championship Moving to Kapalua Resort in 2027
The tournament will move to March and carry a $3 million purse as the LPGA adds a two-event Hawaii Swing.
On Monday, the LPGA announced the 2027 Lotte Championship will be held at the Plantation Course at Kapalua, beginning March 18, 2027, with a 120-player field competing over four rounds.
The Plantation Course previously served as a PGA Tour staple for 25 years, hosting the Sentry until April when the PGA Tour announced it would end its tournament presence on Maui.
Golf drives roughly $3.4 billion annually into Hawaii's economy, and this marks the first time Kapalua has hosted an LPGA event since the 2008 Kapalua LPGA Classic won by Morgan Pressel.
The Lotte Championship will feature a $3 million purse, with fans looking forward to "four days of high-level competition set against the stunning backdrop of the Pacific Ocean," said Kapalua Golf General Manager Alex Nakajima.
Scheduling for March introduces a new two-tournament Hawaii Swing alongside the recently announced Nanea Cup, which showcases the sport's future by mixing 95 LPGA professionals with 25 collegiate golfers.
