Fluor Joint Venture Selected for LNG Canada Phase 2 Expansion Following Final Investment Decision
The expansion will add one storage tank and two liquefaction trains, doubling capacity to about 28 million tonnes per annum, Fluor said.
- On Tuesday, Fluor Corporation announced its joint venture with JGC Corporation secured the contract for Phase 2 of LNG Canada's export facility in Kitimat, British Columbia, following Monday's final investment decision.
- Phase 2 will add an additional LNG storage tank and two liquefaction units, doubling the facility's production capacity to approximately 28 million tonnes per annum to meet growing global demand for reliable LNG.
- Fluor will recognize a $7.5 billion share of the contract, executed by JGC Fluor BC LNG II JV, a Canadian joint venture comprised of Fluor Canada Ltd and JGC Constructors BC Ltd .
- Chief Executive Officer Jim Breuer said, "LNG Canada Phase 1 was a landmark achievement for Fluor," adding the company is "excited to carry that momentum into the next chapter."
- Fluor shares edged higher in Tuesday premarket trading, with Wall Street expecting EPS of 83 cents when the company reports earnings on November 6, 2026.
