Israel. Israel announced Thursday that it will deport pro-Palestinian activists to Europe from an aid flotilla to Gaza, after intercepting several of its ships in the Mediterranean. The Global Sumud flotilla ("sumud" means "resilience" in Arabic) left Barcelona at the beginning of September with about 45 ships and hundreds of pro-Palestinian activists from more than 45 countries, several of them Latin Americans.
