Mass. weather: Flood watch issued ahead of soaking Sunday

Massachusetts residents should prepare for a soaking Sunday as a powerful storm system brings the threat of flash flooding, especially across southeastern Massachusetts and areas near Boston.The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch through Sunday afternoon for much of eastern Massachusetts, including Boston, Norfolk County and southern Worcester County. Rhode Island and parts of eastern Connecticut are also included in the watch.

Boston Weather Sunday Heavy Rain and Flood Watch

Boston is starting Sunday in the mid-60s, with rain expected across the area. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to spread across the area this morning, with heavy rain, patchy fog and a high near 71 degrees by afternoon. The National Weather Service says rain will overspread the region in the morning, with some storms capable of producing torrential downpours.
