Luffu's New Health and Safety Wearable Isn't Just for You. It's for Your Entire Family
The screenless band tracks health data, shares location with trusted contacts and includes LTE help requests for families and older adults.
- On Tuesday, Fitbit co-founders James Park and Eric Friedman launched Luffu Link, an LTE-enabled health and safety band designed to monitor wearers' physical and mental well-being for families.
- Inspired by their own caregiving experiences, Park and Friedman created the wearable to address fragmented care tools. Research shows caregivers spend 'over 27 hours a week' on responsibilities, a burden the founders aimed to reduce.
- The $250 device, expected to ship in early 2027, features built-in GPS and LTE connectivity requiring no separate carrier plan. It also offers AI-powered voice logging and water resistance up to 50 meters.
- Luffu Link integrates with the company's family care app, where subscription plans starting later this year cost $20 per month or $200 annually for up to four users. Extended plans for eight people cost $30 per month.
- Beyond the wrist, Luffu teased a home device designed to monitor wellbeing across multiple households, with more details expected to be unveiled later this year. The company is positioning itself as a multi-device family care platform.
