A beekeeper in the district of Kitzbühel has first sighted an Asian hornet in Tyrol. Now experts in Kössen are looking for the nest to prevent the spread of the alien species. For native insects and honey bees, the animal represents an enormous threat.

The Asian hornet spreads further and further and is a danger for bees. Almost two weeks ago it was first detected in Saxony: in the Leipzig district of Grünau. Now the nest could be found and removed. Is the danger for native insects thus banished?
