- Known as "Russia's Motown," Tolyatti is located about 900 kilometers from the Ukrainian border and is home to Russia's largest state-owned car manufacturer AvtoVAZ. The city also hosts a rubber manufacturing plant.
- Ukraine's General Staff confirmed damage to a plant producing solid rocket fuel for tactical and ballistic missiles. Resident footage from Taganrog, located around 40 kilometers east of the Sea of Azov, shows large fires at an airfield.
- The Kyiv Independent could not independently verify the reported damage at time of publishing, and Ukraine's military has not yet commented. President Volodymyr Zelensky previously warned on Sept. 1 that Russian airspace "will be de facto closed" because of Ukrainian drones.
- These strikes follow a Sept. 9 deep strike by Ukraine's Special Operations Forces against a natural gas facility 3,200 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. Previously, Ukrainian drones hit a rubber factory in Tolyatti on June 12.
