Firefighter dies from injuries after being trapped under truck during Ouddorp dune fire

A firefighter who was critically injured while fighting a dune fire near Ouddorp on August 6 has died from his injuries. The regional safety authority said he passed away at Erasmus MC on Wednesday morning.The firefighter became trapped beneath a fire truck while battling the blaze and was airlifted to hospital by trauma helicopter. The regional safety authority said the following day that it was “deeply concerned” about his condition.
