A fire broke out at around 4:55 PM on the 11th in an apartment on the 15th floor of a building in Gayang-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, involving a man in his 30s and a woman in her 80s, presumed to be residents of the unit where the fire started. In the flowerbed of the apartment where the fire originated, two people, including a man in his 30s and a woman in her 80s, were found.

The unit was completely destroyed, and a mother and child were found in cardiac arrest. Fire authorities deployed 87 personnel and extinguished the fire in about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
