- On Friday, Patna Police registered an FIR at the Secretariat Police Station against Sagar Prasad, an official in the Bihar Chief Minister's Office, for posting a photograph of a Jamui molestation victim and her family on X.
- Posted Thursday from Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary's official account, the photograph showed the girl and three family members at Loksevak Awas before being deleted within 15 minutes.
- Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav accused the Chief Minister of "violating the POCSO Act" by publishing the minor's image, while the complaint states the circulation "affected the privacy and dignity of the minor victim and her family."
- Seeking action under the POCSO Act and the Juvenile Justice Act, RJD Lok Sabha MP Misa Bharti separately requested a case be registered against the Chief Minister for disclosing the minor's identity.
- The investigation has expanded to include others who shared the post, according to police, while Bharti's application was added to case files requesting "no person be declared guilty" without inquiry.
