The Alberta government wants public feedback on a proposal to build a new dam and reservoir on Red Deer River. A dam in the Ardley area, 40 to 60 kilometres downstream from Red Deer, is one of a number of projects being considered to reduce the impact of drought by ensuring there is reliable water capacity.
