Musk's SpaceX and Ukraine to Block Russia’s Use of Starlink
Ukraine and SpaceX launched a whitelist system for Starlink terminals to block unauthorized Russian drone operations, with over 50,000 terminals aiding Ukrainian defense, officials said.
- On Tuesday, the Ukrainian government announced a verification process to register Starlink satellite terminals for civilians and businesses, with unverified terminals to be disabled in cooperation with SpaceX.
- According to Ukrainian military and Kyiv officials, Moscow troops have mounted Starlink systems on attack drones to bypass electronic jamming, while the Institute for the Study of War warned this extends drone range to 500 kilometres.

Ukraine is launching a verification of all Starlink terminals in Ukraine in response to the unauthorised use of Starlink by Russian forces. Elon Musk promptly responded to Kyiv’s calls to check and prevent Russian forces from using Starlink on attack drones against Ukraine.
Soon only tested and registered Starlink terminals will work in Ukraine. All others will be disabled.
Recently, the process of verification of terminals operating on Ukrainian territory will begin.
