Saxonia-Anhalt will not be able to preside over the Conference of the Prime Ministers of the Länder of the Federal Republic of Germany after the victory of the far right party "Alternative for Germany" in the elections. The Conference will be chaired by Reinland-Palatinate for another year.
The 16 heads of state have agreed that Rhineland-Palatinate will take over the chairmanship of the Prime Minister's Conference for another year, thus skipping Saxony-Anhalt in the year-on-year changing order.
