Federal funds to help Attapulgus replace asbestos-cement pipes

The City of Attapulgus will receive federal funding to replace some of the asbestos-cement pipe currently used in its water mains, Mayor Art King announced at Tuesday’s city council meeting.  In a Jan. 8 press release, Rep. Sanford Bishop’s office said he helped secure $478,420 to replace the pipes as part of a bipartisan spending bill.
