In recent months, high-ranking Russian officials, in the midst of rumours of new mobilization, have been trying to open accounts in foreign banks and transfer their assets abroad.
The Russian authorities have no plans to recruit 300,000 people until the end of 2026, as announced by RTVI, the spokesperson of Russian President Dmitry Peskov, commenting on Bloomberg's alleged preparations for "hidden mobilization" and related concerns of officials.
Parliamentary elections are being held in Russia from Friday to Sunday, and the tightly controlled vote is expected to bring victory to the ruling United party.
