FDIC Appoints Sunwest Bank as Nano Banc's Acquiring Institution
The FDIC said the transfer will give depositors immediate access and keep payments running as Sunwest Bank assumes selected assets.
On Friday, September 25, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation closed Nano Banc, appointing Sunwest Bank to acquire substantially all of the institution's deposits and a portion of its assets.
The acquisition involves approximately $605 million in assumed deposits and $227 million in assumed loans, marking the sixth FDIC-assisted acquisition completed by the Irvine, California-based Sunwest Bank.
Nano Banc customers retain immediate access to their funds through Sunwest Bank, with existing checks remaining operational following the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation's closure.
Former Nano Banc branches will reopen under the Sunwest Bank brand, and clients with questions regarding the transition are encouraged to contact the FDIC via toll-free support.
Sunwest Bank continues to expand its footprint across California, Arizona, Idaho, Colorado, Utah, and Florida, maintaining focus on commercial banking services to entrepreneurs and small business clients.
