Fannie Mae Sharply Raises Mortgage Rate Forecast Through Mid-2027 - The MortgagePoint

Just one month after projecting 30-year rates at 6.4% through the remainder of 2026, Fannie Mae has now forecast slightly higher rates lingering into 2027. Fannie Mae now is predicting 30-year fixed mortgage rates will average 6.8% in the fourth quarter of 2026 and remain at that level through the first half of 2027.
