The law establishes a period of two years for the payment of the tax after a death. In the case of Sebastián Piñera, the date is fulfilled this Friday. After previous representations to the IBS and the Civil Registry, the widow and her four children paid on Tuesday the tax of 25% that the law dictates. The tax is the highest since the death of Anacleto Angelini, in 2007. The former president left an inheritance of about US$ 740 million.
