The County Council is giving more than £100,000 to charity Stripey Stork to provide uniforms, shoes, PE kits and school bags.
The scheme helped more than 7,500 children last year and aims to support around 8,500 over the next year.
The money comes from a government fund helping families facing financial difficulties.
