- Operatives apprehended Maiye at NITEL Junction along Adetokunbo Ademola Way, Wuse II, after acting on credible intelligence that he was using the disguise to threaten commuters and motorists for money.
- A security source told Zagazola Makama that at arrest, Maiye possessed a DSS tactical uniform and fake pistol, items used to intimidate commuters and extract money from them.
- Investigators are questioning Maiye in custody to determine how he obtained the DSS uniform and kit, and whether he has engaged in similar criminal activities previously.
- During interrogation, the suspect claimed the tactical gear belonged to his late brother, Monday Maiye, who he stated was a DSS operative who died years ago.
