Thanks to modern technology and painstaking work, the Swedish sculptor managed to recreate the most realistic appearance of a four hundred year old girl, who was buried by the peasants with a protective sickle around her neck because of fear of vampires.
A sickle was placed around the young woman’s neck. Three pieces of wood were tied to the big toe of her left foot, nailed together to form a triangular “padlock.” The two objects were discovered by archaeologists during excavations of her tomb in Pień, Poland, in 2022.
