FAA employee arrested after allegedly using work computer to threaten Trump
Prosecutors say Dean DelleChiaie searched for assassination attempts and how to bring a gun into a federal facility before sending a threat to the White House.
- On Monday, federal authorities arrested Federal Aviation Administration employee Dean DelleChiaie, 35, of Nashua, New Hampshire, on charges of interstate communication of a threat against President Donald Trump.
- In late January, DelleChiaie used his work computer to search for "how to get a gun into a federal facility" and "previous assassination attempts" against the president, officials said.
- On April 21, DelleChiaie allegedly used his personal email to send a threatening message to the White House with the subject "Contact the President," stating, "I, Dean DelleChiaie, am going neutralize/kill you."
- DelleChiaie faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted; he is scheduled to appear in federal court Tuesday for arraignment.
- U.S. Attorney Erin Creegan noted the United States Secret Service led the investigation with "valuable assistance" from the Nashua Police Department during the probe.
